I have created a website for another mock client named Ashley Martinez who is a nail technician in need of a website for her salon. Clients are able to use a smartphone, a tablet, or a desktop computer to look at her salon's website and book appointments. I'd like to provide the link to the low-fidelity wireframes.
Meet Ashley Martinez. She’s a Nail Technician who lives in Los Angeles, California. Her salon is called Colorful Finger Tips since she enjoys creating bright, vibrant, and elaborate nail designs for her clients. Her most famous client is Christina Milian. She’s a 32 year old single mother of a 5 year old girl. She currently works as a district manager at Sephora, but she wants to gain a larger clientele and work as a Nail Technician full time. As of now, she has a home salon in her three-bedroom luxury apartment. She wants to expand to a large stand-alone nail spa in the near future. She needs a website that allows clients to not only view her best work, but also view the types of services she provides, access her salon information, and book appointments.
I identified Ashley's requirements for the website for her salon. She has been using Instagram to gain clients, but needs a website where they can locate her salon, view her nail designs, view the services she offers, and book appointments.
Once I have a clear understanding of Ashely's requirements, I begin forming the structure of her website by sketching. I had to return to the sketches and make multiple additions even when I was further along with the design process. I was able to make the layout clear as possible so that clients don't feel confused or frustrated as they navigate through the site. To view all the sketches for this project, click here.
The low-fidelity wire framing begins once I have completed the sketches. Figma is the tool that I used to further organize the layout for Colorful Finger Tips. I did have to make several changes to my sketches and as a result, I made adjustments to the low-fidelity wireframes. The wireframes for smartphones, tablets, and computers are designed so that Ashley's clients can access the site from anywhere.
Now that I've figured out the layout of the website, I get confirmation from Ashley about her brand and how she would like her nail salon to be viewed. The nail salon website is an extension of her image and her brand. Since most of her clientele are young women who reside in Los Angeles and love trendy styles and bold designs, her website must reflect that. I have created high-fidelity wireframes for smartphones, tablets, and computers. Her clients would like to access her website on multiple devices.
The last part of this project is prototyping. I've created prototypes for smartphones, tablets, and computers. I made sure to test the prototypes so that they can properly mimic an actual website.
